Please elaborate me the features of WEB 3.0?

please elaborate me the standards, features of web 3.0 and how it is different from Web 2.0

Please elaborate me the features of WEB 3.0?
Web 3.0 is not an evolution of Web 2.0 - it's an entirely different concept. Web 2.0 is about web apps, social networking, and user-generated content. Web 3.0 is about the Semantic Web, but there's more to it.

In short, the Semantic Web is about having data and information stored in such a form that it is easily understood by computers, as well as people. So the computer can be smart, and extract data such as times and dates, etc.

For more information, see the Wikipedia articles on Web 3.0 and the Semantic Web.

Web 2.0 is just advertising, ignore it, it's nothing different :P
Reply:i think you mean web 2.0 from web 1.0 dont you ??

web 2.0 is the latest buzz.... see the new msn and igoogle frotn pages, and my yahoo of course.

the way the new yahoo mail works etc etc ajax and so forth is all web 2.0
Reply:lol, Jaxbot nailed it. Web 2.0 is just a concept, a buzzword, it has no real meaning. It's just a flashy way of saying better, more interactive web pages. I've never even heard of web 3.0, but all I have to say is I better be able to design pages using 1 language for client and server side code. Or else it's not web 3.0 for me, more like web 2.5.
Reply:Web 3.0 ???

Only 0.1% of webpages are in Web 2.0 at this time.

Give them time!

"Web 2.0" standard does not actually exists as such, but can be defined as being born when AJAX had been implemented to allow more interactivity on sites (around 2003). Yahoo and Google were the first to fully apply it.

About the same time, XHTML was implemented to re-structure HTML in a more standard way.

Very few web coders are good at web 2.0 yet...

So, wait a bit before asking about web 3.0!
Reply:web 2.0 is a buzzword that is used in everything from coding to design.

essentially web 2.0 should be the second wave of internet sites which allow interaction, applications, more control and functionality to the user. blogging, online office suites, social networking etc are examples of "web 2.0" if you follow this definition.

instead, it is more commonly used to describe the look of a site, or a new feature on a site, which is entirely wrong.

web 3.0? never heard of it. i try to keep away from things like that since they are just there to catch the attention of the public.

a guy i done a website for thought xhtml was this huge improvement on html that allowed you to do things you would in html, css, javascript, ajax, php, flash and wash your dishes and everything. just because it has an x at the start! people are funny creatures and will believe what they want if they believe it is "cool sounding". in fact, xhtml is just another standard of html based on xml. he was a bit disheartened when i told him the truth. felt bad i shattered his dreams but at least he isnt going about talking mince anymore.

web 2.0 i can apply my definition as above, but web 3.0... sounds like a desperate attempt by some marketing fool to sound cool.
