What the heck is Web 2.0?

Web 2.0, a phrase coined by O'Reilly Media in 2004,[1] refers to a perceived or proposed second generation of Internet-based services—such as social networking sites, wikis, communication tools, and folksonomies—that emphasize online collaboration and sharing among users.

What the heck is Web 2.0?
The second wave of the World Wide Web. Sometimes called the "New Internet," Web 2.0 is not a specific technology and also this is not a new concept for the Internet, but as Web applications become more sophisticated, people can more easily create blogs, develop personal Web pages and upload their own text, audio and video to the Web.
Reply:Web 2.0 is more like a community based Web system...In which the users themselves decide the content they want to have on the web. Hence, its more democratic in nature and a bit more user friendly.

Its what the Internet is evolving into...with more and more communities dedicated to give solutions which cater more to what an individual needs.

Not sure whether this encompasses all what web 2.0 is all about..
